 Sandra Gal Rookie Blog Eight

Hi everyone!

It has been a great season that has gone by in a heartbeat! I really can't believe it. It feels like I just teed off in Hawaii at the SBS Open in Turtle Bay two weeks ago. But here I am, having already played 22 tournaments. I have learned so many new things during my first year on tour: about the game, about my game, about other people, and about myself as a person. I think I have taken a lot with me that is extremely valuable, such as better course strategy, being patient, and going after it. I am happy to have kept my tour card safely, but I also know I could have played a lot better (yeah, I know everyone says that). It's been a huge learning process and I am grateful for that. It was cool to shoot a 66 in my last competitive round this year in Japan. It felt like a nice finish to the year, but also a good kick-off for the off-season. I'm back at home in Europe for a few weeks right now just to wind down from the season and take a break from playing, while seeing my old friends, going shopping and enjoying some painting and occasional dancing (which I really couldn't do much of during the season). As much as I do enjoy the break, I also look forward to improving my game when I get back to the U.S. I'm excited for that challenge!

And to all the new rookies next year? I have a few tips:
1.) Love flying and if you don't, learn to love it.
2.) Love the fans, because they are cool.
3.) Love the rules officials (which is not that difficult).
4.) Don't forget to love the game.

I wish you all good luck at Q-School!

At this point, I would also like to thank my whole supporting team this year, which helped me in every way. There is my mom and dad, who believe in me more than anyone in this world and go literally thousands of miles to be there for me. There are my coaches Andrew Park and David Leadbetter (who help me with my game), Kai Fusser (who helps me with my fitness), Dr. Bob Rotella and Manfred Seehofer (who help me with my mental game). They all seek to make me the best player I can possibly be. There are my friends in Europe and in the U.S., including my housing families this year, who keep me laughing and support me. And there also are my new fans this year, which I am honored to play good golf for! I thank you from my heart!

All the best to all of you,
Sandra
