First and foremost I need to apologize for not writing for such a long time. Blogs were part of the rookie year on the LPGA Web site, if you chose to write them. I actually enjoyed writing them a lot and so I decided to continue writing them on my own Web site.
A lot happened since last year!!! After successfully finishing my rookie year (well I know it could have been better, but considering I was still finishing my degree, it wasn't that bad) I was off to a fresh sophomore year on the LPGA. Everything feels so much easier this year. I know a bunch of people out there and I call many my friends, which makes life fun. I have played a lot of the courses already and I am returning to most of the housing families I have stayed with last year. It feels like coming back home again and so many times I am amazed at how quickly the year has passed.
I'm also much more comfortable out on the golf course. I really enjoy the fans that follow us at every tournament and like to return their excitement for the game with a good performance and smile on my face.
I also feel that my game has progressed a ton since my rookie year. I worked a lot on my short game, which is really paying off. Instead of hoping to get up and down around the green, I am now looking forward to every shot and see whether I can chip it in. During several tournaments this year I shot the best round of the day and then finished between 5th and 33rd place. That tells me I am doing better, but still have to learn how to win. I am confident that with the experience I am getting and my good game it will happen eventually.
And what's new with my hobbies? Well I still love painting, although I find that I don't have enough space for it in my apartment. I definitely decided to reserve a room in my next home (no ambitions to get one as of now…) for an atelier, where I can spend my free time. It has to have a ton of light and lots of colors for me to work with. One new thing that I took up is singing.
Check out the song that I recorded in London called "Dice". I might do a few more, we'll see. But I definitely really enjoy it and it gave me a deep appreciation for singers and their work. It's not easy! Other than that, I'm practicing hard and can't wait to play my next event in California. Because that's what I'm here for. Play golf and enjoy it.
